Refreshed and Restored
As I consider this message to you, I sit here basking in refreshed, resupplied contentment. Not my own, but that of a friend who shared how recent visits and re-connections, and even some change of schedules, had re-supplied her energy and well-being. “My cup is full!” she declared.
My friend’s contentment was so thorough and genuine that I felt blessed and refreshed just to hear of it, to see the evidence on her face and in her demeanor. God is so good to allow us these moments of delight and relief and resupply.
Jesus offers this invitation to lay down our burdens and be refreshed and restored … Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11.28-30
An opportunity for refreshment and resupply is being readied for … you! Yes, dear woman, for you! An evening for conversation and food and … worship! Then a morning to early afternoon with coffee, breakfast & lunch, fun engagement, and considering God’s building us up individually and together.
Here’s the scoop, there are many opportunities to feel humdrum, or bewildered, or left behind, or even forgotten. But there is one opportunity which is the antidote to our doubts and our fears, to our misgivings and uncertainties. Choosing what is loving, what is certain, what leads to a change of the position of our hearts is what brings a settled spirit ready for God’s good and defining work in us.
Come on in, invite a friend, and be a part of this opportunity with us.
